This course is designed for learners who are new to British Sign Language (BSL) and want to develop basic communication skills. As part of the Level 1 Award in British Sign Language, Unit 101 provides an introduction to using and understanding BSL in everyday situations. Learners will develop skills in meeting and greeting, holding simple conversations, understanding numbers, and giving or following basic directions and information. The course builds confidence in both producing and receiving BSL, supporting effective communication with Deaf people. This programme is suitable for those interested in learning a new language, supporting personal development, or beginning a pathway towards further BSL study or future employment.
