TV and Film Production (Level 3 UAL Extended Diploma)

This course is perfect if you want to pursue a career in TV or film production, producing a range of exciting content in all areas of the TV and film industry.

You'll need 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths - both of these must be grades 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and Maths GCSE grades 9-4 (A*-C). You will also need a portfolio, showreel of work, or other material you have created that demonstrates your interest in the TV/film industries.

You'll learn creative production techniques across a variety of subjects, including: TV news; TV studio work; Short film; Music video; Documentary; Drama; Animation; Scriptwriting; Film studies; Special effects; Directing and producing; Editing; Post-production work

You can expect a creative course that offers a broad range of practical study, with great facilities and equipment. You'll complete assessments throughout your study, resulting in a final portfolio of work (showreel) which you'll exhibit as part of a professional end of year show. You will complete 90 credits in Year 1 and gain a standalone qualification. On successful completion of this, you will progress into Year 2 to gain the full Extended Diploma.

Assessment is continuous and will consist of a portfolio of reports, presentations and creative projects plus a final major project at the end of the year.

Choose to follow with further study at degree level, such as our foundation degree in TV & Film Production and a top-up degree in Digital Media Design.
