Visit our website for full details of what is covered during the course Course Overview – What You’ll Learn • Set up your personal training bay for wall and floor tiling. • Know how to set out walls and floors in different rooms and what needs to be taken into consideration. • Tile walls, including complex areas such as window openings (reveals/sills), internal corners, around doors, sockets, and copper pipes. • Work with various tiling styles: uniform, brick bond/wall effect, diamond inlay, and mosaic borders. • Fix four sizes of wall tiles: 150x150mm, 200x100mm, 600x300mm, and mosaic tiles. • Lay floor tiles using 330x330mm ceramic tiles, including cuts around waste pipe. • Mix and apply grout to both wall and floor tiles. • Correctly use a laser level. • Use tile levelling systems. • Use mosaic backer sheets. • Measure, cut, and install tile trim. • Apply silicone sealant correctly. • Use a range of tools: dry rail cutters, wet cutters, tile nippers, tile files. • Safely remove old tiles. • Know how to check floor and ceiling levels, assess wall flatness, and correct any issues. • Measure and correct squareness of window openings. • Identify different background surfaces and prepare them correctly. • Choose suitable adhesives for various areas and environments. • Learn about tanking systems and where to install them.
