This course offers a fantastic insight into the role of archaeologists and the process of archaeology, starting from initial research to site identification, excavation and survey and analysis and interpretation of the archaeological evidence. We look at material culture, famous sites and discuss some of the scientific techniques and tools available to archaeologists to help us understand our fascinating human history. The course is 3 hours per week with potential for field trips to sites and local heritage institutions (weather and time permitting).
