This course is for those who would like to explore technology subjects within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) including elements of Design, and English and Maths at Functional Skills or GCSE.

This course aims to get you ready for level 1 and level 2 courses here at Nottingham College and build your confidence getting ready for work. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills through: A practical programme Gain new knowledge and skills in the classroom and workshops Enhance your English and Maths through projects Tutorials, enrichment and work experience Preparation for working in industries As well as practical skills, you will have the chance to explore personal and transferrable skills with the support of our specialist team of teachers and support staff including wellbeing mentors, behavioural mentors and learning support services.

Assessment methods within this program include in class knowledge assessments and practical assessments. Assessment methods have been designed to assess the knowledge, understanding and skills of learners for all units.

Students that gain either GCSE English or GCSE Maths at grade 2 or above can progress onto a Level 1 course at Nottingham College. If students pass either GCSE English and Maths with a grade 4 can jump straight to Level 2.

Students can also progress onto a Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship depending on their GCSE results.
