You will need a minimum of two GCSE passes at grade 3 or higher in maths, science or English Language. You will take part in a short interview to ensure that the course meets your needs and to ensure that we can identify any extra support that you may need early.

You will complete a range of practical projects and will be assessed and monitored throughout the year on these. You will also compile a portfolio of all of this work to show what you have learned. You will complete tests and assignments in maths and English.

After completing the Level 1 course and the required Maths you will be well prepared to progress onto the Level 2 Practical Engineering Course. You will then also be able to apply for an engineering apprenticeship standard with a local company as an apprentice. There you will then develop your skills at your place of work and to further improve your technical knowledge you will attend college. There is also the option of progressing to the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Engineering.
