This T Level is suitable for anyone wanting a career in construction, specifically in surveying and design, civil engineering, building services design, or hazardous materials surveying. The T Level is a 2 year programme and will include a 9 week (minimum) industry placement and a Technical Qualification, where you will also choose your specialist occupation.

2 GCSEs at grade 5 in maths and Science .Grade 4 in English Language GCSE and two other Grade 4 GCSEs In addition to the entry qualifications listed, you will be invited for an interview with a tutor where you can discuss your career plans and have any of your questions answered. The course will be further explained including how the 315 hours of Industry placement will be undertaken as part of the T Level.

Modules include • The structure of the construction industry. • How buildings are designed, estimated and constructed. • How health and safety and site welfare affect the construction industry. • How sustainability in the construction Industry is embedded with building technology. • The use of Science and mathematics in construction. • The use of CADD, Technology including 3D design and graphical detailing to create structural designs. • A variety of project management methods and techniques. • Building regulation, property valuation and the conversion of structures. Industry Placement The minimum 45 days of industry placement is undertaken in a working environment so you can experience what it is like to be in a real-life job, including travelling to work and working with new people. You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the company and sector you work in. The experience will ensure you are suitably prepared to enter the workplace and you will gain essential technical and employability skills and knowledge, including a good understanding of the professional standards of behaviour and attitude needed to advance in professional Construction.

To be awarded a T Level, students will need to complete the following two elements: 1) Technical qualification, which includes: a. core theory, concepts and skills for that industry/sector b. specialist skills and knowledge for an occupation 2) Industry placement with employer The T Level assessment combines examinations in the core skills, with a practical skills test for the occupational specialisms developed in practice.

Your core knowledge and skills will be assessed through exams and an employer-set project. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed on the core. Assessment of occupational specialist knowledge and skills will vary depending on the occupation. It may involve tests, practical assignments and projects. Your occupational specialist knowledge and skills will be assessed in the second year.
