Typically you will have prior knowledge and experience of working in this sector. You will be employed in a healthcare setting and have your employer's support for the college team to assess you in the workplace. Ideally you will have a minimum of Level 2/Grade 4 in English and or maths. For this qualification you must have an employer willing to support your learning programmeand undertake level 3 work activities for minimum 16 hours per week for the duration of the course.
Over the duration of this course you will develop the knowledge, behaviours and skills required for work in a level 3 healthcare role. You will learn more about safeguarding and protection, and the legislation and quality standards the sector operates within. You will learn about evidence based practice, infection control, health conditions and a range of topics that relate directly to the clinical skills requirements of your individual job role.
This course will be assessed through a range of methods such as assignments, observation and professional discussion. It is internally assessed and external quality assured.
