Discover your skills and careers

Discover your skills and careers (DYSAC) is a tool to help you identify your:

  • interests
  • motivations
  • preferences

Understanding yourself can help you work out what careers you may enjoy working in. You can use this information to explore careers that interest you in more detail.

After you answer the questions, you’ll see a list of categories that may interest you based on your answers. You can answer more questions to see more specific roles that may suit you.

These suggestions are based on your preferences, and may not reflect opportunities in the job market. You may want to speak to a careers adviser about your results. They know about local opportunities in your area and can help you work out your next steps.

It takes 5 to 10 minutes. It may take longer with a screen reader. You can save your progress at any time and come back to it later.

We're deleting old assessments

To improve the efficiency of our systems, we're starting to delete any skills assessments that have not been updated for over 12 months.

You can return to your skills assessment for up to 12 months after the last time you updated it.

An update could be progressing your assessment or changing a previous answer.

After 12 months of no updates being made, your assessment will be automatically deleted.
