Safety and Operator Responsibilities Develop an understanding of safe telehandler operations, including: • Operator responsibilities and site rules • Work-area hazards and safe clearances • Ground conditions and machine stability • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Machine Checks and Controls Learn how to prepare the machine for safe use by covering: • Major components and control functions • Pre-use checks and defect reporting • Safe start-up, travel and shutdown • Correct use of attachments and safety devices Load Handling and Placement Develop practical skills for: • Understanding load charts and rated capacity • Assessing load weight and stability • Picking up, travelling with and placing loads • Operating at different heights and reaches

Classes are delivered in person. You will complete 2 days of a plant construction Pathway at Redcar and Cleveland College before being placed on your course with MP plant training.
