This course builds on introductory knowledge and forms part of the Level 1 Award in British Sign Language. Units 102 and 103 focus on developing conversational skills and the ability to communicate in BSL about everyday life. Learners will expand their vocabulary and improve both receptive and productive signing skills, enabling them to understand and use simple sentences and structures. The course covers communication in familiar contexts such as work, education, and daily routines, with a focus on clarity, facial expressions, and use of signing space. This programme is ideal for learners wishing to develop their confidence in BSL, communicate more effectively with Deaf people, and progress to further study or practical use of the language in personal or professional settings.
