Certificate in Housing Practice

This qualification is suitable to anyone new to housing or who work in a frontline position and want to improve their general awareness of housing or get their initial qualification. You may enrol if you are not currently working in housing but are considering a frontline housing position as a career option. It can also be useful for tenants, residents and board members wishing to enhance their personal involvement and understanding of housing

Individuals must be aged 19+ and living in Liverpool City Region

This qualification will give you a basic understanding of housing and introduce you to some of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in housing related activities. 1. Housing provision and housing organisations The range of services offered by landlords and housing organisations, who they deliver them with and how they are financed. Features of housing tenure and the relationship between landlord and tenant. 2. Customer service for housing How to deal with customers and have an awareness of equality and diversity. 3. Professional development in housing The range of roles in housing and what is required to fulfil them. You will explore your personal professional development. 4. Assets, repairs and maintenance The main types of dwellings across the housing stock and how they are maintained and repaired.

During the course there will be paper based activities, including quizzes and questions / answers. There will also be group work which will involve discussions and activities i.e. completing team exercises

Successful completion of this qualification will prepare you for the Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice.
