This course is for - • Learners who want to upskill or retrain in the digital / cyber security sector. • Learners who want to further their studies in cyber security, for example through apprenticeships or higher education. • People who wish to begin or advance a career in cyber security — this includes those targeting roles like cyber security engineer, consultant, architect, analyst, specialist, or IT security technician. • As a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), it's aimed at meeting specific employer needs and industry requirements. • Adults (minimum age 18+) — you must be at least 18 to take this course.

Learners must be at least 18 years old. No prior qualifications are required, though a relevant Level 3 may help. Learners should have the capability to meet learning outcomes and the necessary literacy, numeracy, and health and safety requirements. They should not take another similar qualification at the same level at the same time, as this may affect funding eligibility.

The qualification is made of six mandatory units, each focusing on a different critical area of cyber security. Through these units, a learner develops both technical knowledge and practical skills, plus the professional behaviours needed in cyber security roles. 1. Principles of Cyber Security 2. Cyber Security Architecture 3. Legislation, Policies, and Procedures in Cyber Security 4. Threat Intelligence in Cyber Security 5. Risk Assessment in Cyber Security 6. Cyber Security Management
