You may study any of the following units depending on the size of level 2 qualification that you take: Animal Biology Animal Behaviour and Handling Animal Health Work Experience in the Animal Sector Animal Feeding Animal Accommodation Animal Establishments
You will learn through a combination of assignments, projects and practical activities based around your theoretical knowledge. Particularly important will be the development of key employment skills relevant to work in this area. To assist with this you will undertake a mandatory work experience placement which is usually one day per week.
Step-Up to Level 2 (non qualification route) Level 2 Certificate, Extended Certificate or Diploma in Animal Care (each option has the opportunity to top up to the next programme)

Zoos
Kennels/catteries
Animal technician
Voluntary organisations
Learners may also wish to progress to level 3 study after completing a full level 2 diploma and on recommendation by the tutor.
