Film Studies is a course which focuses on the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film. With particular focus on narrative, genre, financial and global concerns Film Studies will encourage and develop skills of observation, critical analysis, personal reflection, written expression and creativity. What you will do: • Analyse a range of films • Study several films in close critical detail • Discuss different approaches to film production, distribution and exhibition • Research the background to different Hollywood studios and the UK film industry • Create a storyboard/screenplay to make your own short film (course work).
