Sympathy design is an important aspect of commercial floristry, and this short introductory class will teach you the key skills of how to make two popular & timeless designs- a double ended natural style spray and a single based letter with ribbon edging. The tutor will use a range of teaching methods during the course which will include the following: Demonstration - both group and individual, one to one tuition, group work, assessment of progress, observation, discussion / question and answer sessions.

You will need to bring your own flower materials and scissors- as recommended by the tutor. As this is a practical class, please wear suitable clothing, including fully closed in footwear- you may also wish to wear an apron. Please bring a notebook and pen, plus a phone/camera will be useful for recording design ideas and techniques, and for photographing your work to build a portfolio, if applicable.

The course tutor will use a range of methods to assess progress on the course. These may include: Observation, completion of an Individual Learning Plan which will be updated regularly, evaluation of work samples, question and answer sessions.
