This course is designed for 16–18-year-olds who enjoy sport, physical activity and wellbeing, and who want to explore career opportunities within the sport and fitness industry. They will learn about the sport, fitness and active leisure sector, develop practical skills, and build important employability skills that can support progression into further education, apprenticeships or employment. The qualification combines industry knowledge with transferable skills that are valued by employers.

Topics may include developing knowledge of the sport and active leisure industry, understanding health, safety, security and welfare in sport, and learning how to plan and run sports events. Learners will also develop the skills and confidence to lead sport and physical activities, strengthen their teamwork and communication abilities, build employability and workplace skills, and support their personal development and career planning. English and maths skills can also be embedded throughout the programme where required.
