The creative industries are the fastest growing part of the UK economy. They are defined by the UK government as “those industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and which have a potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property”. On our Higher National Programme you will encourage and support you to develop your own style and vision in photography, and can help you plan for your future career. If you have a passion for image-making this course will help you to achieve more by providing practical skills and theoretical knowledge, building a thoughtful, visually creative and innovative portfolio of work. Set projects are worked on with support from tutors, peers, and portfolio feedback. We also have a selection of client briefs from around the local area, as well as working closely with visiting professional photographers and industries for lectures, workshops and portfolio reviews. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to exhibit your work both live and online and enter various competitions. We have an industry standard studio with specialist lighting, up to date digital software and black and white darkroom facilities.
