The Level 4 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy provides progression for existing practicing funeral celebrants. It takes the creation and delivery of funeral ceremonies to a new level and improves skills and knowledge and all round practice.

Either: Successful completion of the NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (RQF) and submission of an application form. Or: To have been a practising funeral celebrant for a minimum of a year, plus the submission of two different funeral ceremony scripts, created and delivered (anonymised) by the applicant, plus submission of a video of the applicant delivering a funeral ceremony and submission of the application form.

The key areas of the course builds on existing skills and knowledge in 9 key areas including writing skills, dealing with challenging bereavement interviews, ceremony delivery skills, child and baby funerals, advanced practice poetry and readings, advanced practice music, advanced scattering of ashes and advanced memorial ceremonies and advanced inclusivity at funerals.

The course is mostly distance learning in 9 sections, with online interactions throughout including an online individual session with a voice coach. The course ends with a one-day face -to-face assessment day.
