MA in Psychotherapy Studies (Academic Pathway) L7

This master's programme is designed to support both personal and professional development through embodied, relational, integrative and holistic learning practices. Highly experiential in nature, the course requires full engagement and reflection as you progress through workshops, lectures, field trips and creative activities. Assessment methods are varied, including reflective journals, case studies, creative work, podcasts and a research thesis. Unique in its content, this MA is the only* programme in the UK to offer a specialist module in Wild Therapy. The course includes two first-year residential experiences, Building Community Creatively in October and Working Wildly in late May/early June, plus occasional evening and weekend CPD activities, with dates shared in advance.

Applicants should hold a degree in Counselling or Psychotherapy (including a minimum of 100 hours of professional practice) with a 2:1 classification or equivalent. If you do not hold a degree in Counselling or Psychotherapy which includes 100 hours of professional practise, but in another related subject, you could be eligible for our Psychotherapy Studies Master of Arts - Professional Pathway which is also available to apply for on our website.

The MA programme offers students the opportunity to enhance their experience further with two residentials and occasional evening and weekend CPD activities and events, we provide notice of the dates of these upcoming events as soon as they are arranged.

Graduates advance into roles within mental health, wellbeing services, counselling organisations, education, research, and private practice, or progress to doctoral study, clinical training, or specialist psychotherapy routes.
