This is a popular, nationally recognised, Access to HE courses designed for students who are planning to continue with their career related studies into Higher Education in a wide range of Health, Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Professions. We work in close partnership with local universities and many students use this Access to HE courses as a route into a full degree. This course is designed for over 19-year-olds. Bursaries for Nursing students Students progressing to university will now have access to new annual payments of at least £5,000 if they study eligible Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health courses. Applicants should have experience of care work before commencing the course. Applicants also must be in paid employment or voluntary employment in a care setting as a mandatory requirement for undertaking the course (in place at enrolment). You will produce a portfolio of work relating to both your compulsory units and your specialist units. There will be some tested elements to the course in order to practise exam technique. To achieve an Access to HE Diploma you will need to pass a minimum of 60 credits with 45 credits in Academic Content and 15 credits in Academic Preparation skills.

This course has an excellent track record for progression. Many students choose to continue their HE studies in subjects such as BSc Nursing, BSc Midwifery, BSc Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, BSc Nutrition, BSc Occupational Therapy, Diploma/BSc Operating Department Practitioner, BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Radiography, BSc Psychology and BSc Speech and Language Therapy.
