You will: Explore different genres of story building. Write your own story. Discover your unique writing voice. Gain confidence in your creative writing abilities. Receive constructive feedback in a supportive environment.

You'll learn through a mix of engaging activities, including talks from the teacher, in-class exercises, homework assignments focused on writing your own story, group discussions, handouts, videos of talks by established writers, and reading well-known fiction. We provide a supportive and encouraging environment to help you develop your skills.

Students are advised to bring pens, paper and a folder (for storing work, notes and handouts). Laptops, tablet computers and recording devices e.g. dictaphones are optional but welcome.

Your progress will be assessed through your participation in class and the completion of writing assignments. After this course, you could progress to an intermediate level creative writing course or focus on finishing and submitting your coursework to editors for publication.
