Diploma in Construction Skills

This qualification will provide you the ideal introduction to the construction industry and cover essential skills in the following construction trades: bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, plastering, painting and decorating, construction operations, wall and floor tiling and plumbing.

Must be aged 16 to 18 and wanting an introduction to the variety of construction trades, to gain skills in those areas and perhaps to decide which trade is the right one to pursue a career in. No previous knowledge or experience is required.

You'll learn in the classroom and in the workshop, using suitable tools and materials. Each unit is assessed via practical assignments, and there is an optional e-assessment available. English and Maths skills are vital for employment and to secure a place on courses at a higher level, including university. We have a team of tutors who will work with you to achieve these essential qualifications and enable you to apply these skills in your day-to-day activities and work.

Our courses are accredited by City & Guilds and are offered at Entry Level 3 and Level 1. Further progression may be onto a higher level qualification, apprenticeship or employment.
