The course will be very focussed on industry skills and connections. You will attend approximately 12 hours of studio time, workshops, lectures and tutorials each week over a period of 30 weeks. The course will be taught with an approach that delivers a balance between practical skills development and acquired knowledge.
The course is assessed continuously considering your live projects, creative enterprise, workshops and meaningful outcomes. The process of assessment is part of the effective planning of teaching and learning and provides opportunities for both the learner and assessor to obtain information about progress towards learning goals.
Typical progression would be to gain employment or self-employment as an artist. Alternatively to progress into Higher Education, it is possible to progress directly from this course on to Year 2 of an Arts degree at Solent University, allowing you to save money by not paying the first year university fees.
