Kaplan's ACA Assurance classroom course aims to support you in passing your exam and help you to gain the skills you need for a successful career in accountancy. You'll work through a structured study schedule targeted towards a Computer Based Exam (CBE). Your tutor will support and guide you through the course and answer any questions you may have. The Certificate Level subjects can be studied as an independent qualification known as the Certificate of Finance and Business (CFAB), available to study with Kaplan Distance Learning. We recommend that you begin by studying Accounting and Assurance papers first and then complete the level in any order. Provided on the course are printed copies of the ICAEW material and the Kaplan Workbook along with soft copies which can be found on your personalised, online learning portal, MyKaplan (www.mykaplan.co.uk). Also on MyKaplan you will get a range of online resources such as: tricky topic tutorials, knowledge checks, custom tests and mock exams. The AS syllabus is split into 4 areas: The concept, process and need for assurance - 20% Internal controls - 25% Gathering evidence on an assurance engagement - 35% Professional ethics - 20% Learn the concept, process and need for assurance, internal controls, how to gather evidence on an assurance engagement and professional ethics. No entry requirements, although you will need a good understanding of Maths and English.
Kaplan will provide you with all your printed study materials, included in the course fee. To benefit from the online resources included in this course you will need access to a computer with good Broadband internet service. You will also require paper, pen, pencil and a calculator.
Each of the ICAEW CFAB modules is examined by a computer-based assessment exam. You can take these in any order and at any time of year. The pass mark for each is 55% and each exam lasts 90 minutes. Exams can be taken at an approved test centre (your local Kaplan centre) or through Pearson Vue network.
