This course is designed to equip students with construction and the built environment skills, knowledge, and the understanding necessary to achieve high performance in the global construction and the built environment sector. The qualifications in Civil Engineering are aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. In addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the study of the construction and the built environment sector, Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Civil Engineering give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training. Graduates successfully completing the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic concepts of Construction. They will be able to communicate accurately and appropriately, and they will have the qualities needed for employment that requires some degree of personal responsibility. They will have developed a range of transferable skills to ensure effective team working, independent initiatives, organisational competence, and problem-solving strategies. Please note: The full cost for this 2-year programme is 6,000 and payment of the fees will be split between in Year 1 and Year 2.

You will be taught over one day a week via a variety of lectures, group work and class discussions and exercises. On successful completion of your HNC Level 4, you can progress to the HND Level 5 to study more advanced subjects and further your membership status with your chosen Institute. You can also gain access to a National Network of vocationally recognised Universities to study at BSc level and ultimately gain full corporate membership of your chosen professional institute.
