The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sports Coaching is a qualification for post-16 learners. The qualification is equivalent in size to one A Level. It may be taken alongside as part of a two-year full-time study programme. It is intended for post-16 learners who want to progress directly to employment in an assistant coaching role. The qualification is also suitable for those wishing to progress to higher education. The content of the new Sport BTEC Nationals has been developed in collaboration with employers and representatives from higher education and relevant professional bodies. This means that the content is up to date and includes the knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes required in the sector.
