This T Level is suitable for anyone wanting a career in construction, specifically in surveying and design, civil engineering, building services design, or hazardous materials surveying. The T Level is a 2 year programme and will include a 9 week (minimum) industry placement and a Technical Qualification, where you will also choose your specialist occupation.

The overall qualification is graded on the scale of Unclassified, Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction*. UCAS points are allocated to overall T Level grades with D* achieving 168 points which is the same as three A* grades at A Level.

You'll learn specific topics in design, surveying and planning: Project management Budgeting and resource allocation Procurement Risk management In addition to the core content, each student will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content: Surveying and design for construction and the built environment Civil engineering Building services design Hazardous materials analysis and surveying

Your learning will combine classroom theory and practical learning and include 9 weeks (minimum) of industry placement. The placement will provide you with a real experience of the workplace.

Your core knowledge and skills will be assessed through exams and an employer-set project. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed on the core. Assessment of occupational specialist knowledge and skills will vary depending on the occupation. It may involve tests, practical assignments and projects. Your occupational specialist knowledge and skills will be assessed in the second year.
