This T Level has been designed with employers to give you the skills and experience needed for a successful career in the built environment sector, as you’ll cover core topics such as building technology, design and sustainability, project management and much more. Completing the course could open doors to careers such as surveying and design, civil engineering, building services design, or hazardous materials surveying, to name just a few.

You will cover core topics such as: Health and safety Science, measurement and building technology Information, data and digital technology Construction mathematical techniques Design and sustainability Construction and the built environment Relationship management, commercial business, project management and law To boost your employability, you will also complete 315 hours (equivalent to 45 days or 9 weeks) of work experience over the two-year course.

Your learning will combine classroom theory and practical learning and include 9 weeks (minimum) of industry placement. The placement will provide you with a real experience of the workplace.

Your core knowledge and skills will be assessed through exams and an employer-set project. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed on the core. Assessment of occupational specialist knowledge and skills will vary depending on the occupation. It may involve tests, practical assignments and projects. Your occupational specialist knowledge and skills will be assessed in the second year.
