If you have been away from education for some time or didn't quite achieve your College qualifications, an Access to Higher Education programme will give you the confidence and skills to take that next step to start a degree or equivalent University level course.

You will need to be over 19 years of age . You will have achieved and can provide evidence of GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics.

You will study the following subjects along your progression route, double Biology with either Chemistry or Physics and Study Skills

Your classes will fit around school holidays, with most starting at 10 am and the course is ran by the University of Derby.

A laptop/PC is essential to complete the course. We understand that mature learners face certain barriers when returning to education. Means-tested support means that funding is not a guarantee, but students who fit the eligibility criteria will be able to apply.
