The Access to Higher Education (Access to HE) Business and Accounting diploma is a Level 3 qualification with two variations for two distinct groups of learners:
- UK adults aged 19 or over
- International students aged 17 or over (N.B. In certain cases international students accepted on to this course may be aged 16 years old - please contact the International team for more info)
Our Access to HE diplomas are validated by CAVA (Cambridge Access Validating Agency) and are recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education.
Access to HE for UK adults aged 19 or over:
This variation of the Access to HE diploma, for UK adults aged 19 or over, is a one-year course designed for adults who have an interest in Business and are seeking a change of direction because of unemployment or lack of career opportunities, or who have the ability to benefit from higher education but who have not previously had the opportunity to develop their academic skills. Learners offered a place on the Access to HE programme will take subject-specific modules alongside Academic Study Skills with an additional tutorial each week, making a total of 12 hours contact time. A possible 15 hours of independent study time per week may be necessary. The programme is fast-moving, exciting and demanding, with rigorous assessment. It is also highly rewarding and offers a great opportunity to succeed. UK adults aged over 19 who apply for an Access to HE course are entitled to apply for a UK government-backed
Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost. The loan is not means-tested or subject to credit checks and will be written off if you successfully complete the Access to HE course and then proceed on to a higher education degree programme. See the Fees section below for more information.
