HNC Architectural Technology

Course details may be subject to change. The HNC in Architectural Technology can lead to Technician, Associate or Chartered Member status with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. As an Architectural Technologist, you will provide architectural design services, negotiate construction projects and will be part of the team that manage the development of projects from inception to completion. You will attend the University Centre one day per week over two years and will study key areas such as Principles of Off site Construction, The Construction Environment and Principles of Alternative Energy. You will also be expected to conduct additional directed and independent study during your own time away from college to complete the programme. You can also complete this as a part of a Higher Apprenticeship.

The purpose of the HNC in Architectural Technology is to develop your skills as a professional. You will be able to reflect on your performance to make improvements, and you will develop the skills needed to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector, and adapt to an ever changing world.

Successful completion of the HNC will allow you to further your career in industry, progress to university or to apply to study the HND in Architectural Technology at New College Durham.
