This programme is aimed at adult learners who either have an interest in starting out in the hospitality industry including those that are unemployed, job seekers and contacts through the local job centres or those that are currently working within the hospitality industry, that need upskilling to meet current health and safety requirements within the workplace. This level will suit you if you already work in a job where food safety is important - probably in a role where you are supervised.

The qualification at Level 2 will provide you with knowledge of the parameters of basic food safety practices as relevant to the catering industry. Achievement of the qualification at level 2 will enable you to identify how to make changes to catering practices in order to improve the safety of the catering service as a whole.
This programme uses a wide range of learning activities designed to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for future career success. You learn through a day’s workshop of theoretical sessions and group discussions with an industry expert.

After a day’s workshop you will be supported with revision questions and then will sit a written paper to achieve your qualification.
This qualification will allow you to gain the basic skills required to start your career in Hospitality. You can also progress onto a level 1 or 2 Culinary qualification.
