The purpose of the two year T Level course is to prepare you for employment in the construction industry by developing skills and knowledge within the construction industry and how it works. You’ll study computer aided design (CAD), report writing, and surveying techniques for the planning, design and management of construction projects. The Design, Surveying and Planning T Level is recognised by many professional organisations as an entry qualification for student membership.
Your learning will combine classroom theory and practical learning and include 9 weeks (minimum) of industry placement. The placement will provide you with a real experience of the workplace.
Your core knowledge and skills will be assessed through exams and an employer-set project. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed on the core. Assessment of occupational specialist knowledge and skills will vary depending on the occupation. It may involve tests, practical assignments and projects. Your occupational specialist knowledge and skills will be assessed in the second year.
