These qualifications are linear and all exams will be taken at the end of the second year. There are 12 required practical exams that must be completed over the two years. Specific GCSE (or equivalent) grades required for entry on to the course: Trilogy Science Double Award: Grades 6, English grade 6, Maths grade 6.Progression Routes: Popular progression routes include medical, health or environmental science related degrees. Biology A level Year One: Paper 1:Any content from topics 1–4, including relevant practical skills-65 marks: short answer questions; 10 marks: comprehension question. Paper 2:Any content from topics 1–4, including relevant practical skills-65 marks: short answer questions; 10 marks: extended response questions. Year Two: Paper 1:Any content from topics 1–4, including relevant practical skills-76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions; 15 marks: extended response question. Paper 2:Any content from topics 5–8, including relevant practical skills-76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions; 15 marks: comprehension question. Paper 3:Any content from topics 1–8, including relevant practical skills-38 marks: structured questions, including practical techniques; 15 marks: critical analysis of given experimental data; 25 marks: one essay from a choice of two titles
