This course has been designed and developed by universities, employers and industry specialists in order to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills that they will need to pursue a job in the creative media industries. Students will develop professional and social skills through interaction with performers, clients and peers; as well as theoretical and technical knowledge and understanding to underpin these skills. This will allow creativity and flair to be harnessed in the design and production of media products used within the industry.

If an applicant has achieved a 4 or above in English Literature, we may accept a 3 in English Language, this is subject to discussion with the CTL and other qualifications achieved. Students must be prepared to be in front of and behind the camera and to engage with a large amount of group work.

During the 2-year course, learners will cover a variety of units, allowing them to develop sound knowledge of and technical skills in a wide-range of creative areas. Single block units: • Media Products and Audiences • Creating a Media Product • Planning and Delivering a Pitch for a Media product • Pre-production and Planning • Advertising Media • Creating a Personal Media Portfolio

This course is 100% coursework-based. Students must demonstrate excellent attendance and an exemplary work ethic. Students must be prepared to be in front of and behind the camera and to engage with a large amount of group work.

50% external assessment set and marked by OCR 50% internal assessment

Students have gone on to study media production at film school or university or are now working in media production companies. The Cambridge Technical accrues equivalent UCAS points to A Level qualifications so university is always an option, however, employers and other HE providers, including those offering apprenticeships, also welcome students with vocational qualifications. Students consider applying for the L4 UAL Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise which is delivered at EN.
