There is no minimum academic entry requirement for this course however the candidate will need to be working in a veterinary practice on a full time basis
Units covered in this course include: General Animal Husbandry, Anatomy and Physiology, Deliver Basic Nursing Assistance, Principles of Basic Animal Nursing, including First Aid, Infection Control, Nutrition / Feed and Water, Parasitology and Zoonoses, Animal Accommodation
Blended learning including Face to Face Teaching, Direct Study and Practical Assessment in your Training Practice
Laptop and Study materials. All teaching resources will be provided
Exam, Portfolio based and EPA (Professional Discussion and Practical Assessment ). Students will also need to working towards Functional Skills Level 2 if not at this standard.
Students who successfully complete the course may progress to RCVS Veterinary Nursing Diploma Level 3 if employed in a suitable RCVS Training Practice. Students will also require qualifications of 5 GCSE's at grade C or above (Level 4-9). This must include English Language, Mathematics, Science and 2 other subjects or Level 2 Functional Skills In Maths & English plus 3 other GCSEs at grade C or above (Level 4-9). The ANA certificate counts as Science and one other qualification
