Cost description The cost of our plastering courses includes all tools, materials and assessments used when completing the course. This course is also available as part of an ELC funded package which is subject to eligibility.

This 10 day plastering course is designed to give you the skills to complete the following plastering jobs; apply finishing plaster, apply a floating coat, fix plaster boards to solid walls using dot and dab technique, complete patch and repair work, plaster full sized walls, plaster good sized ceilings which are 2.2m off the floor, understand how to produce quotes and work with customers. During this course you will complete the following to a high standard; Classroom time is kept to a minimum and trowel in hand time is kept to a maximum. Apply plaster to plaster-boarded walls which include internal and external angles. The walls are of a good size, please see our photos. Apply plaster to previously plastered walls which include internal and external angles and added obstacles. Measure and cut plaster boards and understand the different boards available i.e. acoustic, fire, moisture, thermal, impact, standard, etc. and how to fix these different types of boards to different backgrounds. Fix plasterboards to solid walls using dot and dab technique (dry lining), including internal and external angles and a window opening. Apply plaster to a full ceiling and the ceiling is 2.4m off the floor so you have to use the correct access equipment. Patch and repair damaged walls and ceilings, eg damaged walls or chased out walls. Measure, cut and fix beading, used to form edge on external corners Apply a floating coat, for example, using bonding or browning instead of plasterboards Understand and carryout preparations required prior to plastering. Understand the different tools and equipment used in plastering. Understand the range of materials used in plastering Understanding the different methods used to price jobs.
