This Level 1 programme of learning is aimed at those who want to work in any job that will require administration skills. It will provide you with an understanding of the job role, practical skills in using basic office equipment, develop your communication, ICT, and study skills to give you the best chances of employment and progression onto further qualifications. You will be studying, Creating business documents, Working as part of a team, Managing Diary Systems, Using Microsoft office applications This programme runs for the academic year, one session each week.100% attendance is a requirement of the course.

Entry to this course will be an informal interview with the course teacher and a Skills Check to assess your current English and Maths skills. You do not require any experience in office work to be accepted onto the course, but you must be working at level 1 English skills.

This course aims to help you to gain an insight into the role of an Administrator and to gain practical skills that will support your employment opportunities and progression in this career path. You will also gain essential computer skills.

Classes will include a variety of activities such as taught sessions, role play, discussions, group, individual assignments and at least 25% of your course will be remote learning that will involve you carrying out activities outside of the classroom. You will be expected to attend all planned sessions. Your teacher will be on hand to support you and give feedback throughout the course.

There are a variety of assessment activities during this programme,and you will produce a portfolio of written assignments as well being observed completing practical tasks to achieve the administration qualification. To achieve the ICT qualification, you will have an assessment. During the course, your teachers will give you target dates for each assessment to help you progress and achieve your qualifications. Regular feedback and reviews will ensure you can identify what you have achieved and

There is the opportunity to progress on the Administration Level 2 course, straight into employment or onto apprenticeship with another provider. It is also important to continue to develop your communication and number skills if you are looking for employment in this sector so you may like to consider enrolling on one of our English and Maths course.
