Cost description Free for home students aged 16 to 18 years; for home students aged 19-23 a £1000 tuition fee plus £100 registration and certification fee; home students aged 24 plus studying Level 3 £3500 per annum.f you do not hold a level 2 qualification (e.g. 5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4) or a level 3 qualification (e.g. 2 A-Levels) and are under 23 years old, you may be able to get a substantial reduction in your fees. You may also be able to claim for free or discounted courses at level 1 and entry level if you're aiming for a level 2 course, do not already a qualification at this level and are under 23 years old. Overseas students aged 16 plus £5,000 per annum.

2. Who this course is for

This course has a mixture of practical and theory and is delivered making use of the excellent Agricultural facilities including the workshop and machinery training yard. Students are able to access a range of additional learning support, based on need and well supported through the use virtual learning resources. A range of employability skills will be developed whilst on the course including practical skills, communication, and land-based specific knowledge, and development of ICT skills. Students will also get the opportunity to carry out work experience on external placements.

3. Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs grades A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent (Level 2 Diploma), which must include GCSEs in English AND maths A*-C / 9-4 Grade. For those students who achieve four GCSEs A*-C/9-4, there is the option of a 90 credit Diploma. Achievement of this at Merit or Distinction will allow progression onto the second year.

Students will be assessed throughout the course using assignments, projects, practical tests, exams and external assessments. Students are encouraged to relate theory to practice in all assessments.
