2. Who this course is for

This course will teach you how to make a range of exciting leather accessories. Create a stylish bag and be inspired by combining materials, with hand stitching and embellishment, while learning how to add eyelets and a magnetic closure. Learn how to braid and make leather beads to complete your range to a professional standard. Whilst on the course you will be introduced to professional terminology used to describe all the techniques, tools and equipment for each project. Hands on demonstrations and one on one support and tuition will be given throughout the course along with instructions on how to use all tools and equipment safely. You will start by producing a mood board looking at accessories from different cultures to incorporate into your designs. Basic knowledge of how use of a sewing machine is preferable. - You will learn how to make a simple leather bag. - You will learn how to make a braided leather belt. - If you complete your range, you will also learn how to make leather beads and possibly a leather neck piece.

3. Entry requirements

Beginners are welcome and learners who have experience of working in textiles. Basic knowledge of how use of a sewing machine is preferable.

7. How you'll be assessed

There is no formal assessment for this course, but your progress will be monitored via question and answer in groups and individually and by observation. You will be given regular verbal feedback as to how you could improve and your progress in general.
