2. Who this course is for

This qualification is for learners preparing to use IT will be beneficial, but also will support
roles specifically related to IT use such as support technicians or helpdesk technicians.
Learners do not need any prior qualifications, knowledge or experience, but it may benefit
less experienced and less confident learners to first undertake the BIIAB Level 1 Certificate
In IT User Skills (QCF) 601/6493/1.

3. Entry requirements

• You would need a desire to work in the future in the ICT industry and / or
• You would need a desire to work to obtain IT User Skills
• You should have the ability to achieve the qualification (after learning and training)
• You should have a desire to progress with further training and assessment after
achievement of the qualification.

4. What you'll learn

This qualification has been designed to allow you to learn, develop and practise the skills
required for employment. The qualification also provides you with an overview of the core
concepts crucial to working as an IT user, but offering the flexibility to develop or refresh in
a variety of subject areas

5. How you'll learn

The qualification requires you to undertake a minimum of 3 different areas of
learning (known as units). As the qualification is made from entirely IT-specific units,
all of the units will relate to the IT sector.

relevant for those using IT or want to in the future, who are currently employed in IT
