Learners offered a place on the Access to HE programme will take subject-specific modules alongside Academic Study Skills with an additional tutorial each week, making a total of 12 hours contact time. A possible 15 hours of independent study time per week may be necessary. The programme is fast-moving, exciting and demanding, with rigorous assessment. It is also highly rewarding and offers a great opportunity to succeed. UK adults aged over 19 who apply for an Access to HE course are entitled to apply for a UK government-backed Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost. The loan is not means-tested or subject to credit checks and will be written off if you successfully complete the Access to HE course and then proceed on to a higher education degree programme.
