Sport & Leisure Instructor - Level 1 (Diploma)

This programme is aimed towards students wishing to follow a career pathway into the sport and active leisure industry.

You will need: At least 4 GCSEs at Grade 2 (E) or higher All students are required to successfully pass an interview demonstrating passion, enthusiasm and commitment to the course and sport.

Modules you will study include: Being Organised Preparing a Personal Progression Plan Training for Fitness Playing Sport Contribute to Running a Sports Event Keeping Active and Healthy The course features a variety of teaching methods, such as presentations, practical investigations and workshops. Additionally the course provides the opportunity to gain extra experience such as: Coaching Primary School Children and SEN Learners Fitness and Use of Gym Equipment Personal and Social Development Health and Safety Awareness Work Placement Students who do not have English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above at GCSE level are required to follow English and Maths programmes as mandatory components of their programme. Our King's Lynn sports courses are currently run at our specialist Sports Campus at Lynnsport, near to the main campus.

Assessment is completed via internal methods and includes assignments, practical demonstrations and presentations. There is also an externally assessed unit including an exam.
