The BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching course is ideally suited to anyone with a passion for sport coaching, or health and exercise with a desire to improve their knowledge of a wide range of topics. The course is designed to give you insight and experience in sports coaching and help prepare you for a career in the industry whilst keeping options open for a range of progression destinations.

5 x grade 4 or above at GCSE. Grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language and Maths. Grade 4 or above in GCSE Science and Physical Education is desirable.
You will gain valuable skills required to be an effective sports coach by studying a range of units including: Developing coaching skills, Sports Development, Organising Sports Events, Psychology in Sport, Careers in Sport, Fitness Testing. The course will give learners the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through our partnership with the Community Sport Foundation giving students the opportunity to apply their learning.
Students will have access to a Personal Trainer from the College to help them with their physiological development as part of their weekly training schedule. Learners will be assessed through a mixture of methods including assignments, presentations, group tasks and practical assessments.

This course is assessed entirely by coursework.
Upon completion learners would be well prepared for progression into the coaching industry and will also be able to apply for progression to higher education. Students will be offered the chance to undertake additional NGB coaching qualifications during their studies to help prepare them for employment upon completion of the course. These include: L1 Multi-skills Award in Sport - L1 Gym Instructing, L1 Football - Please note course prices are subject to change
