Candidates must have completed Intermediate tap/modern, or be working at that level and able to take Intermediate prior to the course finishing. Candidates must have GCSE grade C (4 under the new system) in English Language and Mathematics. In order to take this course you must be over 17 years old at the start of the course; you will ideally be a second year or mature student when starting as this is a stand alone two year course.
Assessment will be conducted by HSDC through a mix of online tasks, a reflective portfolio and a practical exam. There will also be a taught lesson and spoken oral exam, assessed by the ISTD.
Students studying this qualification are looking to progress into teaching dance, in an ISTD school. We have links with a variety of local performance based and creative industries.
