This vocational course is available to any student, whether or not you have studied Creative Media previously. This course is for you if you want to continue your education through applied study and aim to progress possibly in the Creative Industries with a focus on television and film. The course develops your professional understanding of:  The industry and introduces film and television production skills.  Understanding how to write proposals and pitches for a commission.  Developing a film and television treatment outlining your ideas and concepts.

4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (or equivalent), including minimum grade 4 in English & Maths.

You will learn to work together in teams and individually to produce film and television projects. Through optional units in areas such as editing, camera techniques, lighting and scriptwriting you will develop your technical skills to gain an understanding of roles and responsibilities within the industry.

There is a mixture of internal (67%) and external (33%) assessment. You will produce a portfolio of coursework that will be internally assessed. You will also complete set tasks under controlled conditions that are assessed externally. The coursework will be evidenced through practical assignments, oral presentations/demonstrations, written reports and project work. through a range of individual tasks.

This course, alongside other Level 3 qualifications, provides the necessary entry requirements for a wide range of higher education courses including HNDs and full degree courses. A significant proportion of recruitment in this sector is at graduate level.
