2. Who this course is for

Level 1 - Fitness The qualification is designed to guide you through an introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of fitness in sport. The foundation level of knowledge and skills will enable you to develop an understanding of the safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of participants of all ages. The qualificationwill prepare aspiring coaches for employment in paid or voluntary roles that will enable you to assist other more qualified coaches in delivering fitness sessions to participants of all ages. Fitness Instruction - Level 2 Full Time (1 year course) Fitness Instruction will give you the opportunity to become a fully qualified Fitness Instructor. You will learn how the body works, health and safety in a fitness environment, session planning and practical delivery. The following units will be delivered: The Musculoskeletal system The Cardio/Respiratory system The Nervous system Principles of Exercise, Health and Fitness Health, Safety and Welfarein a Fitness Environment Personal training - Level 3 Part Time (evening class) Personal Training will give you the opportunity to be a fully qualified Personal Trainer. Throughout this course you will study Anatomy and Physiology, Performance and Nutritionmodules.These will teach you how the body works and how to practically apply this to performance. Units such as: The Muscular system The Respiratory system The Endocrine system The Circulatory system The Nervous system Nutrition Programming personal training with clients Advanced Training Methods This will give you the knowledge to train clients on a self employed basis in a gym, and progress onto higher qualifications.

Entry Level Programme: Skills for Life & Work No formal qualifications are required for this course, although evidence of personal progression from previous education establishments would be beneficial. These courses are specifically designed for learners with a special educational need (SEND). Entry Level Programme: Skills & Employability English & maths GCSE Grades G-U / 1 or English & maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3 GCSE Re-sit Study Programme You will receive an offer of a place on the course subject to passing an English & maths assessment. Vocational Level 1 Programme English & maths GCSE Grades E-G/1- 2 or English & mathsFunctional SkillsEntry Level 3. Vocational Level 2 Programme Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including mathsand English or a vocational qualification Level 1, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both maths and English. English & maths Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.
