You'll cover key areas of current practice in health and social care to support your career choice. Course themes: - Equality, diversity & rights in health & social care- Human growth & development- Safeguarding in health & social care- Communication in health & social care Placement is a mandatory part of the course. You will: - Learn from visiting speakers, currently working in the NHS or social care- Be taught by experts in health and social care- Go on placement, as an integral part of the course- Have the opportunity to go on trips, such as to NHS careers events Course specific stats: - 100% pass rate- Students progressed onto level 3, apprenticeships and work within health and social care Facilities: You’ll study and learn guided by health and social care experts. Practical sessions will be carried out using resources such as our Hospital Room, where you can gain practical skills before going into placement. You will have a placement coordinator who will help you find your placement and visit you whist you are there, to ensure you have completed the required paperwork.

4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English or maths. A clear commitment to wanting to work in the care sector and complete 40 hours of work experience with adults in a care setting. Completion of a DBS is required.
You will be assessed through a unit-by-unit approach in a variety of ways such as leaflets, posters, displays and work placement diaries. The course is 100 coursework marked by your tutors.
