The minimum age to register for this programme is 18. Prospective students should note that the following entrance qualifications are required for those wishing to undertake this programme: A level (or equivalent) or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or Mature applicant with GCSE (or equivalent) and work experience (subject to funding) Applicants will have to attend a formal interview for a place on the course.
This course gives learners the opportunity: To gain specific and wider business-related knowledge to allow progression in job roles across functional areas and sectors. To develop the specific technical knowledge to underpin learner’s competence in the job roles stated above. This includes culture and ethics in a business, principles of quality management, communicating in a business, negotiation and influencing in the workplace, managing information and the knowledge related to managing work activities to improve business performance.
Learners will be given the opportunity to research activities and present reports, to critically review and evaluate company’s policies, procedures and systems. Participate in an “employer-engagement activity” resulting in a project completed for the employer.
This course is assessed internally and moderated by BTEC/Pearson. Awards are made at Pass, Merit or Distinction and the qualification credit value is 110.
This is a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification, is aimed at learners who wish to work in one of the many Business Administration roles such as:
Production Management, Business Development, Accountancy, Customer Relations, Marketing, Human Resources or Logistics.
Other progression routes could be a higher apprenticeship, graduate trainee role. We are currently negotiating with our University partners for preferential entry onto year 2 of a 3 year BA (Hons) in Accounting and Business.
